My Story

In October 2023, we are lucky to be on the team travelling to climb Everest Base Camp, this is a challenging 23-day expedition and marks the 10th year anniversary of Supporting Nepal's Children.

Both of us are up for this challenge and this will push us both to our limits both mentally and physically,  though how lucky will we be taking in those unbelievable sights along the way. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

We plan to raise a minimum of £10,000 but are aiming for £15,000 all donations are matched by St James Place Charity Foundation, so two children's charties will benefit from this trek how amazing is this.  All the money you donate goes to the charity as this is not a subsidised trip; everyone pays for their own flights, accommodation and equipment.

We are both not looking forward to the shortage of underwear as we are onky allowed to take and trying to fit everything into our kit bag for 15kgs allowance, this in itself will be another challenge.

The trek itself will be challenging from walking up to 8 hours a day, the highest altitude we reach is 5,545 metres and with this it brings on the risk of altitude sickness. We both plan to be as fit as we can to ensure we make it to basecamp.

The money we are raising is to build a vocational centre this is to offer the facilities to offer opportunites to young people to learn skills and trades such as electricains, plumbers and welders. This means they do not need to leave Nepal and travel to other countries to work.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and donating we both appreciate this and cannot thank you enough.
